Clark Starts The Holidays On A High Note

file0001654548633CLARK – Students from Frank K. Hehnly Elementary, Carl H. Kumpf Middle School, and Arthur L. Johnson High School performed at the Clark Tree Lighting Festival Sunday, Dec. 1. The ensembles included Meghan Bowers’ select choir from Hehnly, Flora Alexander’s choir from Carl H. Kumpf and Rachel Bollaro’s choir and marching band from ALJ. Each group performed a variety of festive tunes in celebration of the holiday season.

The Clark Community will be experiencing more musical activities as the holiday season continues. All are invited to four winter concerts being held throughout the next few weeks. Valley Road Elementary will have their winter concert on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m led by music teacher Ms. Sauer. Arthur L. Johnson High School’s music program will have their concert on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m. led by Mrs. Bollaro. Frank K. Hehnly will then have their concert on Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. led by Miss Bowers. Concert season will wrap up with Miss Alexander’s Winter Concert at Arthur L. Johnson High School on Thursday, Dec. 19 at 7 p.m.

During the Frank K. Hehnly Winter Concert, the Clark community will experience its first intergenerational band led by Meghan Bowers. All members of the Clark community who play a musical instrument are invited to join the Advanced Band to play “Ode to Joy” at the end of the concert. To participate, community members may sign up online (clarkband.weebly.com) or through flyers given out in every school. There will be one rehearsal at Frank K. Hehnly Elementary on Tuesday, Dec. 10 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
