EDISON – The Edison Recreation Department will be joined by community, family and friends at Edison’s Annual Festival of Lights Celebration on Monday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. This holiday event is again being staged inside the Jewish Community Center of Middlesex County, 1775 Oak Tree Road, Edison.
As in past years, the history and origin of Hanukkah will be told while specially invited guests light the Township Menorah. The entire community is invited to this celebration.
Immediately after participating with Mayor Antonia Ricigliano in the Menorah Lighting Ceremony, all those in attendance may join the reception at the community center. Music will be provided throughout the evening by the Avi Maza Orchestra and the John Adams Middle School Chorus. Refreshments will be served and there will also be a children’s holiday craft table.
Non-perishable food donations will be collected at this event (no meat items please) for the Jewish Family and Vocational Services Food Pantry.
This holiday event is co-sponsored by Recreation Director Denise Halliwell-DeSantis and the Edison Recreation Department along with Executive Director Dorothy Rubinstein of the Jewish Community Center of Middlesex County.
