LINDEN — School Two’s first graders worked together to make a friendship quilt as a way to celebrate the meaning of Thanksgiving. Each student’s quilt square shows the meaning of being a good friend. This activity was followed by a Friendship Feast with typical Thanksgiving foods prepared by the students themselves. Other activities included reading informational and fictional texts about Thanksgiving, writing informational pieces in the form of recipes, as well as using various math strategies to reinforce doubles facts with a Thanksgiving theme. Pictured (left to right) in front of their quilt are first graders Javen Hall, Lucy Lopez, Carlos Cubillos, and Naiomylet Ayala Ruiz.
