RAHWAY – Forty-five families of students in Rahway schools will enjoy Thanksgiving dinner because of the efforts of Rahway High School students who are members of Blue Tri.

The students organized a food drive and urged members of each home room to collect non-perishable foods. Kudos, the school broadcast crew, created a television commercial to increase awareness and contributions. Students canvassed teachers for cash donations to purchase turkeys. On Friday, Nov. 22, members of Blue Tri gathered with their advisers, Edie Rieder and Joyeta Pai, to sort and pack the food into boxes for families to pick up.

Blue Tri’s actions at Thanksgiving are in keeping with the club’s stated purposes, to create, maintain and extend high standards of character throughout the home, school and community, to be of service to the school, associations and the community, and to develop poise and character, personality, and leadership through organizational activities.
