RAHWAY — The Rahway portion of the state Department of Transportation’s project to resurface a 10-mile section of St. Georges Avenue is expected to be completed on Tuesday, a city councilman said Saturday.
“I want to assure Rahway residents that the NJ Department of Transportation’s (DOT) goal is to finish the St. George’s Avenue resurfacing by months end, according to NJ DOT Commissioner James S. Simpson,” said Rahway Councilman Bob Bresenhan.
According to another spokesperson for NJ DOT the resurfacing project should be finished by this Tuesday, Nov. 26, he added.
“The reality is that this is a 10 mile resurfacing project from Elizabeth to Iselin,” Bresenhan said. Due to the unseasonably mild weather and lack of precipitation, the project is actual ahead of schedule. These Rahway road improvements are welcome and will provide a much smoother ride for drivers along Route 27.”
