PERTH AMBOY – Saint Mary’s High School Class of 1958 recently held a dinner dance reunion.

Their high school cheerleader, Betty Ann Siewarga, danced in a 1958-style poodle skirt with a top and shoes to match. A fellow graduate, Mike Bonechak, provided the live music of the 1950s starting off by singing the prom theme some “cherry pink and apple blossom white.”

As master of ceremonies, I, Gerald Bertekap, gave out many prizes for the best humorous events that could be remembered and for correctly answering trivia question about Saint Mary’s High School.

The walls of the Forge Inn ballroom were decorated with old pictures from the high school. Two videos were continuously played of 1958 news events and older reunions. It was a great night to be had by all and captured the feelings and memories of the old high school years.
