Union County College’s Men’s Basketball Team Beats Sussex

basketballCRANFORD – The Union County College Men’s Basketball defeated Sussex County Community College by a score of 78-32 on Tues. Nov. 19. It was an away game for Union.

The Owls jumped out to early lead with a score of 8-0 and continued its lead throughout the game. Forward Andy Etienne (of Bayonne) registered another double-double this season with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Jumanne Butler-McDaniel (of Somerset) led all scorers with 16 points off the bench. Shaquille Mitchell (of Linden) added 13 points and had seven rebounds, four steals, and three assists. 

The Men’s Basketball team is away for the next three games, all before the Thanksgiving holiday. On Nov. 21, they will compete against Middlesex with a tip-off time of 6 p.m. On Nov. 23 they will compete against Cumberland County College at 12 p.m. On Nov. 26, the Owls will compete at Gloucester County College at 7 p.m.
