Elizabeth School Holds Food Drive

ELIZABETH — Madison-Monroe School 16 in Elizabeth is currently holding its “Hands Across The Community” food drive to help its neighbors in need enjoy Thanksgiving this year.

All food items are being accepted until Nov. 25, but the following items are particularly needed: canned soups, canned vegetables, cranberry sauce, boxes of rice and pasta, canned beans, stuffing, and turkeys.
Drop off items daily between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the school’s main building, 1091 North Avenue, Elizabeth.

Next month, the school will hold its “Bear Hugs” teddy bear collection for children hospitalized during the Christmas season at Morristown Children’s Hospital. New teddy bears of all shapes, sizes and colors will be accepted between Dec. 2 and 23 at Madison-Monroe School 16, 1091 North Avenue, Elizabeth, weekdays from 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Due to hospital regulations, only new bears will be accepted.
