Clark Students Donate To Community Food Bank

CLARK — Last month, seventh grade mathematics teacher Miss Faro held the second annual Math Scavenger Hunt Night at Carl H. Kumpf Middle School in Clark. Students participated in a night event that put their mathematics skills to the test. In place of an entrance fee, they were asked to bring a canned food donation. Over 100 items of canned food were collected by students participating in the event. The cans are being donated to the Community Food Bank of NJ.

Before the cans are donated, students in Miss Faro’s classes used them as real life examples when learning about volume. Students calculated the volumes of various canned food items. All the students enjoyed giving back to the community while enjoying a fun-filled night of mathematics.  In the photograph above, Daniel Laucik, Danielle Mitchell, and Vincent Gennaro pose with the donations.
