Report: New Brunswick Water Authority Covered Up Violations

NEW BRUNSWICK – The New Brunswick Water Authority lied repeatedly in water quality reports filed with the state Department of Environmental Protection, according to a New Brunswick Today report.

The state DEP filed administrative orders alleging the New Brunswick Water Department filed multiple false reports for water quality tests and failed to notify the public when standards were not met, according to the report. The DEP said that the violations “had the potential to expose the public to disease-causing microorganisms.”

The utility serves customers in New Brunswick and supplies “bulk water” to Milltown and Franklin Township.
