Cranford Library Collects “Books For Kids”

file0001382357569CRANFORD—The Cranford Public Library will launch its 21st annual “Books for Kids” campaign on Saturday, Nov. 16. Each year thousands of disadvantaged children from all across New Jersey are given the chance to own a new book of their own through this program.

You can give a child the gift of reading by bringing a new, unwrapped book to the library collection box. Books for children from preschool through age 14 are needed. The books will be distributed by the Cranford Family Care Association to local families in need.

Established in 1991, “Books for Kids” is a statewide program sponsored by the Children’s Services Section of the New Jersey Library Association. Donations will be accepted through Saturday, Dec. 14.

The Cranford Public Library is located at 224 Walnut Avenue. Library hours are Monday to Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information about the Books for Kids program, call the library at 908-709-7272 or email
