Jingle-Bell-Run-5KELIZABETH — The Outlet Collection | Jersey Gardens will host the third annual Jingle Bell Run 5K on Sunday, Dec. 8. Hundreds of runners are expected to take part in the USATF-certified 5K road race around the mall.

This year’s proceeds will benefit Children’s Specialized Hospital, the nation’s largest provider of pediatric rehabilitation services with ten sites in New Jersey serving over 19,000 children with special needs each year. The hospital serves children affected by brain injury, spinal cord injury, premature birth, autism, developmental delays, and life-changing illnesses.

“We always knew what a fine place Children’s Specialized Hospital was, but after taking a tour of the facilities we fully realized that these were very special children being cared for by extraordinary people who deserve our support in any way we can,” said Richard Steinke, Elizabeth PBA Local #4 president. “Also, it helps spread the word about the great things Children’s Specialized Hospital does for our children and their families.”

Registration cost is $25 prior to race day, and same day registration is $35. Prizes will be awarded for top finishers. Race day registration begins at 7 a.m.; Fun Run with Santa at 8:15 a.m.; 5K race starts at 8:30 a.m.; pancake breakfast following race start; Awards ceremony at 9:30 a.m. in the mall Dining Emporium. Over $1,000 in prizes will be awarded.

“We are thrilled to once again host this amazing event—it has become a holiday tradition for our retailers and customers. This year we are honored to be running to provide the hospital with a martial arts program for patients with special needs.”
