MOUNTAINSIDE – New Jersey’s very first ski club is about to turn 75, and is starting off its season with an open house on Thursday, Nov. 7. The free event will be held at the Mountainside Elks Club, Route 22 East, Mountainside, and all are welcome.

An evening of pre-ski season fun is planned including lots of door prizes (lift passes, ski accessories and more), light refreshments, and representatives from ski resorts presenting season highlights and events. Interested skiers and riders will have an opportunity to meet the members of the ski club, and get detailed information on club membership and its 2013-2014 trip schedule.

The Watchung Amateur Ski Club meets at 8 p.m. every Thursday (except Thanksgiving) at the Mountainside Elks Club, Route 22 East, Mountainside. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. for drinks (cash bar) and camaraderie. For more information on trips, meetings and membership, email club President Carolyn Titz at cmt924@verizon.net, or visit www.watchungskiclub.com.
