PERTH AMBOY – Schools Superintendent Janine Caffrey will appear before an Administrative Law judge in Newark this week to try to be reinstated to her job after being placed on administrative leave for the third time last month, according to a Star-Ledger report.
“I still have time remaining on my contract to work with committed educators to move the district forward,” Caffrey said, according to the paper. She is in the final year of a three-year contract and had said in August that she would not reapply for her position.
On both previous occasions that Caffrey had been placed on administrative leave, the state reversed the school board’s action.
