METUCHEN — The Friends of the Metuchen Library will take a bus trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to view the Christmas tree and creche erected for the holiday on Tuesday, Dec. 3. Visitors will also be able to view the museums permanent collection and special exhibitions.
The bus will leave from Library Place in Metuchen promptly at 9 a.m. but “adventurers” must be on the bus by 8:45 a.m. Some on-street parking is available on Library Place. Cost for the trip is $50 per person, which includes transportation, a gratuity for the bus driver, and the entry fee to the museum. You can leave your personal items on the bus while at the museum.
Payment is due by Nov. 22, and made by check or money order, payable to Friends of the Metuchen Library. No cash will be accepted and no refunds made for cancellations. (If you can’t make it, the organization encourages you to sell unused tickets to people on the waiting list, or on your own.) Present your payment at the main desk of the Metuchen Library on Library Place, to add your name to the list.
Lunch can be purchased in the museum at the cafeteria or the more expensive full-service restaurant. Audio earphones are available for $4.
The return trip from New York City leaves promptly at 3 p.m., so check your watches to be sure to be on the bus by 2:50 p.m.
