LINDEN — Following a community yard sale on Sept. 28 with more than 40 homes in Linden’s 9th and 10th Wards participating, 9th Ward Councilman Armando Medina and 10th Ward Councilman Adam Kuczynski each pledged a donation of $150 to a local Linden organization.

The councilmen asked their constituents where the money should go via online voting on Facebook. First choice was The Friends of Linden Animal Shelter, which received a donation of $150 from Medina that was presented to volunteer Mary Ann Laeger. Second choice was the Jaclyn F. Wozniak Memorial Scholarship, receiving a donation of $150 from Kuczynski presented to Jaclyn’s mother, Faith Wozniak.

Both Councilmen felt that all organizations should receive a donation and agreed to donate $50 each to The Linden Presbyterian Food Bank, accepted by Rev. Dr. Weaver. A donation was also made to The Friends of Linden Library, accepted by board members Dawn Beviano, Melanie Cortese and Theresa Villani.

The donation giving ceremony was held on Monday, Oct. 7, at the Linden Presbyterian Church on Orchard Terrace.
