Perth Amboy Man Arrested On Heroin Charges

PERTH AMBOY – Earlier this month, police arrested a 43-year-old city man who they saw allegedly drop approximately $500 worth of heroin, authorities said.

Robert Anthony Soto Sr. was charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute within 500 feet of a public park and within 1000 feet of a school zone after members of Perth Amboy Police Department’s Special Investigations Bureau arrested him in the area of Wayne and State streets on Wednesday, Oct. 2.

Judge Maria Del Valle-Koch set bail at $50,000 with no 10 percent option. Detective Mabner Terron led the investigation.

The charges against Soto are merely accusations; he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
