ELIZABETH – This evening, Oct. 22 at 6 p.m., the Elizabeth Board of Education will formally dedicate the district’s newly opened, iPrep Academy School No. 8, located at 221-227 Court Street. The ceremony will be attended by school and district representatives, as well as local, county and state dignitaries.

The iPrep Academy School No. 8 offers a means through innovative technology to individualize instruction to better meet the needs of all students.”

The school features 1-to-1 learning, also known as “anywhere, anytime” or “laptops for students” programs. Each of the over 400 students attending School No. 8 receives a laptop or tablet to use during classroom instruction throughout the school day.

The ceremony will feature keynote speaker Joel Rose, CEO and Co-Founder of New Classrooms, an organization that designs innovative personalized learning models for schools.

Elizabeth Board of Education President Tony Monteiro believes, “The educational model being used at School 8 will revolutionize teaching and learning for the students of Elizabeth.”
