EDISON — The Wardlaw-Hartridge School in Edison will host its annual Alumni Awards Ceremony and Reception at Fall Fair and Homecoming Day on October 19. This year’s event will include the Athletic Hall of Fame induction of Tom Lankey, a 1978 graduate from the Central Jersey independent school.
Lankey, the Democratic mayoral candidate in Edison, was a baseball and football standout in his high school days. Lankey was the winning pitcher in the State Prep championship game in 1978, the only time Wardlaw-Hartridge has won the title. Lankey also played on the school’s 1977 State Prep championship football team.
Lankey’s high school classmate, Susan Moon of Boston, will receive the Distinguished Alumna Award. Moon is principal of Windward Asset Management LLC, an investment company that focuses primarily on alternative investments.
Tom Murray of Oneonta, NY, Sarah Williamson of Brookline, MA and Greg Boff (formerly of Scotch Plains), who will be inducted posthumously, will join Lankey in the Athletic Hall of Fame. Elizabeth McNish of Plainfield, an elementary school teacher at the school from 1968-1997, will receive the Distinguished Faculty Award at the ceremony.
