ROSELLE – The Roselle community will join together tomorrow to raise money and awareness for breast cancer, part of a month-long Borough effort aligned with October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The inaugural Roselle Walks For Breast Cancer will take place Saturday, Oct. 19 at 9 a.m. The Walk will begin near the skating rink in Warinanco Park and conclude at 12 p.m.
“Cancer affects millions of Americans and it’s important to stay vigilant, not only in October, but also year-round to make sure our residents know all the preventive measures necessary for early detection and education,” said Roselle Mayor Jamel C. Holley.
Roselle Walks for Breast Cancer is sponsored by the Borough of Roselle and Roselle 24/7, a non-profit that provides grants for community-based initiatives.
Event co-sponsors include the Borough of Roselle Park and Recreation Events, the Concrete Rose Project, Halifax Distribution and Candi Young, a supporting resident.
