Saint Peter’s Preparatory School Announces Academic Honors

JERSEY CITY — James C. DeAngelo, ’85, principal of Saint Peter’s Preparatory School in Jersey City, announced that students were awarded Honor Pins for the school year 2012-2013 as well as Gold and Silver medals in various subjects. Students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, and no grade lower than a B received pins. The following local residents were recognized:

Berkeley Heights: Colin Carney, ’14, Ciaran Freeman, ’14, Jonathan LaBella, ’15, and Peter Garrigan, ’16 earned Honor Pins. Ciaran Freeman won the Silver Medal in Art and Colin Carney won the Silver Medal in Religion. In other news, Carney and Freeman were named to the Camus Ministry Team and Freeman and Garrigan were elected to Student Government.

Carteret:  Erik Aborde, ’15, earned an Honor Pin and was also elected to Student Government.

Cranford: Daniel Apicella, ’14, Sean Conheeney, ’14, Richard Larkin, ’14, Zachary Power, ’14, Robert Puhak, ’16, and James Swetman, ’16, earned Honor Pins. Richard Larkin won the Gold Medal in Science. Daniel Apicella was elected to Student Government.

Fanwood: Daniel Harcourt, ’15, earned an Honor Pin.

Green Brook: Clark Burnett, ’15, earned an Honor Pin. He also won the Gold Medal in English and a Silver Medal in Science. He was elected to Student Government and also to the Big Brothers Team.

Linden: Bryan Valencia, ’14, earned the Gold Medal in Computer Science.

Mountainside: Andrew Dellechiaie, ’15, earned an Honor Pin.

New Providence: Matthew Brown, ’14 earned an Honor Pin. Also, he was selected for the Campus Ministry Team. Patrick Carney, ’15, was selected to the Big Brothers Team.

North Brunswick: Shamar Waterman, ’16, earned an Honor Pin.

North Plainfield: Andrew Febrillet, ’15, earned an Honor Pin.

Plainfield: Neil Feste, ’14, earned an Honor Pin.

Rahway: Shamir Bearfield, ’14, earned an Honor Pin. Duran Gonzalez, ’16, won the Silver Medal in Religion.

Roselle Park: Stephen Oro, ’15, earned an Honor Pin and won the Gold Medal in Computer Science.

Scotch Plains: Matthew Giardiello, ’14, Kyle Krutis, ’15, Alex Sabatell, ’15, Peter Tomljanovic, ’15, David Clancy, ’16, Liam Guarnuccio, ’16, and Benjamin MacMillan, ’16, earned Honor Pins. David Clancy won the Gold Medal in Latin and the Gold Medal in Physical Education. Matthew Giardiello, ’14, and Connor McNamara, ’14, were named to the Campus Ministry Team.

Summit: Vincent Donatacci, ’14, Joseph Abruzzo, ’15, and William Delaney, ’16, earned Honor Pins. Christopher Butko, ’14, and William Delaney, ’16, were elected to Student Government. Butko and Brian Feeney, ’14, were selected for the Campus Ministry Team.

Union: Carlton Matara, ’14, Daniel Navarro, ’14, Michael Tanelli, ’14, Paul Ajayi, ’15, Peter Ajayi, ’15, Darnell Hutchins, ’15, and Michael Kennedy, ’15, earned Honor Pins. Daniel Navarro won the Gold Medal in Spanish Honors II and Silver Medals in English and Mathematics. Michael Kennedy won the Silver Medal in Art.

Westfield: Nicholas Angeli,’14. Conor Finn, ’14, Emmet Flanigan, ’14, Conor Gelson, ’14, Christopher Lee, ’15, Robert Brancatella, ’16, William Fitzpatrick, ’16, John Lovito, ’16, Patrick Sweeney, ’16, and James Tanella, ’16, won Honor Pins. Fitzpatrick won the Gold Medal in Mathematics and Flanigan won the Gold Medal in Spanish III. Fitzpatrick was also elected to Student Government.
