SOUTH AMBOY – The Dowdell Library Foundation of South Amboy raised hundreds of dollars in donations to purchase new computers for the library through a dunking booth at the South Amboy Arts Festival and Street Fair on Sept. 22.

Dozens of people dunked well-known figures of South Amboy, including City Councilman Mickey Gross, South Amboy High School teacher and coach Tony Gonsalves, South Amboy Y staff members Amanda Winant and James Schnell, and George Fuller, drum major for the Colonel D.B. Kelly Pipes & Drums of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. All of the dunkees brought excitement to the event with their own special flair, including costumes and props.

The booth was made possible thanks to a donation from State Assemblyman John Wisniewski.

The Dowdell Library Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. For more information or to contribute, visit www.DowdellFoundation.org or call (732) 316-1078.
