UNION COUNTY – The New Jersey Planned Parenthood Action Fund has endorsed the re-election bids of state Sen. Nicholas Scutari, Assemblyman Jerry Green and Assemblywoman Linda Stender.
“We are honored to be endorsed by PPAFNJ,” said Stender. “We will continue the fight to restore funding to family planning services and make sure all residents of New Jersey are able to access essential health care. Planned Parenthood has always been a wonderful resource for women and we cannot continue to allow these cuts to impact basic care.”
During the past four years, the women of New Jersey suffered the loss of $7.4 million in state funding that supportedcancer screenings, birth control, breast health services, and other health screenings for over 136,000 patients. The Democratic lawmakers have sponsored several pieces of legislation to restore this funding, and also bring in federal funding.
The Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey is a nonpartisan, not-for-profit 501(c)(4) organization formed as the advocacy arm of the Planned Parenthood Affiliates of New Jersey. The Action Fund engages in educational and electoral activity including legislative advocacy, voter education, and grassroots organizing
