PERTH AMBOY — The Perth Amboy Fire Department will hold its third annual Fire Prevention Open House on Thursday, Oct. 17, from 6-9 p.m. at its headquarters at 375 New Brunswick Avenue.
The event will present a live rescue and fire demonstration, an obstacle course and fire safety handouts will be distributed. Light refreshments will be served. Raffles will be held for smoke detectors and fire extinguishers. The Middlesex Fire Safety Trailer will be on location to educate children on various aspects of fire safety. Children will also get to meet and greet Sparky the Fire Dog. Children must be accompanied by adults.
“The open house is primarily focused on teaching fire prevention to the community, but to also show the community that the Fire Department does more than just fight fires by conducting demonstrations in rescues of various types and educational demonstrations, including the safe use of fire extinguisher usage.” said Acting Fire Chief Abraham Pitre.
