Rahway Library Hosts Program On Healthy Eating

RAHWAY — On Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 6 p.m., the Rahway Public Library will hosting the talk “Fattening and Non-Fattening Calories: What’s the Difference.” presented by Richard Perlmutter, M.S. This presentation will discuss the obesity epidemic and the lessons that can be learned. This program will cover the satiety of different foods so people can avoid foods that are high in calories but are not satisfying, causing them to eat more and gain weight.

Perlmutter is the founder of Abington Nutrition Services LLC. He has a B.S. in Dairy Technology from the University of Illinois and an M.S. in Food Science from Michigan State University. He has worked in many positions in the food industry. He is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the nation’s largest organization of nutrition professionals.
