SPRINGFIELD – A 25-year-old Union Township man allegedly tried to enroll at Dayton High School in Springfield by posing as an incoming freshman and giving school officials a false name, according to a Star-Ledger report.
Carl Walden allegedly told school officials that his name was Jason Burns and that he wanted to enroll, but school officials were suspicious of the 6-foot-1, 265-pound man and notified police. To avoid confrontation, school officials gave him an enrollment packet and told him to have his parents fill out the forms, according to the report.
Police stopped Walden on Mountain Avenue and arrested him. He was charged with criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and harassment, according to the report.
The charges against Walden are merely accusations; he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
