image005EDISON — Plays-in-the-Park will present School House Rock Live. Performances will run on Saturdays and Sundays from Oct. 12 – 26, with two shows each day. All shows are held indoors at the Stephen J. Capestro Amphitheater at 1 Pine Drive in Roosevelt Park, Edison.

This show is scheduled to be performed at 1 and 4 p.m. on Oct. 12, Oct. 13, Oct. 19, Oct. 20, Oct. 26.
School House Rock Live is based on the Emmy Award-winning 1970s Saturday morning cartoon series that taught history, grammar, math, science and politics through clever, tuneful songs.

Tom, a nerve-wracked school teacher anxious about his first day of teaching, tries to relax by watching TV when various characters representing facets of his personality emerge from the set and show him how to win his students over with imagination and music, through such beloved “Schoolhouse Rock” songs as “Just a Bill” and “Conjunction Junction.”

“I encourage residents of all ages to come out for what will prove to be an entertaining show,” said Middlesex County Freeholder Director Ronald G. Rios. “Our Plays-in-the-Park are one of our greatest recreational offerings, and we are so pleased that thousands of our residents agree.”

“Bring your family and friends to enjoy this fantastic production,” Rios said. “This is truly family entertainment at its best!”

Tickets for School House Rock Live cost $2 for children and $3 for adults. They can be purchased in person at the Plays-in-the-Park production office weekdays between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. or by mail by visiting http://www.playsinthepark.com/index.php/season/current/school-house-rock-llive and downloading the order form.
