NEW BRUNSWICK—Nearly 1,000 members of the Central Jersey business community came out in force Monday to attend the Middlesex County Regional Chamber of Commerce’s annual Largest Networking Party (LNP).
The LNP is the Middlesex Chamber’s signature networking event and is renown for attracting retailers, restaurants, hospitals, hotels, corporations and nonprofits.
This year’s event at the Hyatt New Brunswick was the largest yet in the LNP’s 21-year run, with 940 attendees, 106 exhibitors and 130 walk-in attendees.
“We’ve had some big crowds come out for the LNP in the past, but this year’s turnout was particularly encouraging,” said Chamber President Alex Hollywood. “The Middlesex County region is an economic anchor in New Jersey and is very much open for business. This year’s LNP sent that message loud and clear.”
LNP has attracted attendees for years based on its ability to draw a presence from not only the immediate area, but from throughout Central Jersey.
“This is my sixth year here and it’s just a terrific experience both personally and professionally,” said Sylvana Finizio of Carousel Industries, a technology solutions provider. “I get to taste all the wonderful foods from all the businesses here and I get to catch up with existing and potential future business partners.”
“I’ve also been coming for several years and there’s real value to face-to-face networking opportunities like this,” said Robin Grossman of Keller Williams Elite Realty. “By coming back every year I’ve been able to maintain relationships with people not only in my industry, but also get a feel of the Central Jersey business climate.
“The LNP just brings a lot of value overall,” Grossman added.
This year’s event highlights included the award-winning cupcakes of Ron and Ruthie Bzdewka from Food Network’s Cupcake Wars. The Bzdewkas’s House of Cupcakes franchise first launched in Princeton and has since opened locations in East Brunswick, the Bronx, and Manhattan. Another highlight was NY Dueling Pianos who rocked the house with exhilarating performances.
The long list of exhibitors includes prominent area businesses including Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-New Brunswick, Johnson & Johnson and M&T Bank. Media sponsors include: WCTC 1450 AM/Magic 98.3 FM, Greater Media NJ; Home News Tribune; Star-Ledger; NJBIZ, NJ.com and The Epoch Times.
“People just want to come out and network and see—and hear and taste—what Central Jersey has to offer,” Hollywood said. “The Middlesex County Regional Chamber of Commerce provides a venue for the area’s business community to network, which builds business relationships and builds the regional economy.”
