UNION COUNTY – A Union County employee and vendor pleaded guilty to crimes related to their Union County positions in federal court on Wednesday, according to a report by The County Watchers website.

The federal government shutdown has affected the availability of information related to the case.

Our efforts to contact the employee for comment were unsuccessful. A woman who answered the phone at the county Facilities Management Division declined to give out his home phone number and said she was not sure if she would be allowed to even transmit a message to him.

A woman who answered the phone at the vendor’s office yesterday said she did not have any knowledge of the county employee or any criminal investigation.
