ELIZABETH – An Elizabeth man allegedly kicked and injured a police dog while Union County Sheriff’s officers were attempting to place him under arrest Wednesday, according to a Star-Ledger report.
Edilberto Martinez, 34, had failed to appear in court for sentencing on drug charges, according to the report.
The police dog was taken to a veterinarian for treatment, and Martinez was treated at Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth for a minor bite wound, according to the report.
