ELIZABETH — The Rotary Club of Elizabeth, celebrating its 96th year of service to the Greater Elizabeth Community, is proud to feature the 2013 installment of its unique food-tasting event, The Taste of Elizabeth, on Monday, Oct. 28 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at the Renaissance Newark Airport Hotel, 1000 Spring Street, Elizabeth. Now in its seventh year, this year’s Taste promises to be the best ever according to event organizers, with 40 restaurants, bakeries, wineries and coffee houses participating.
“Over three dozen of the area’s finest restaurants and other food and beverage vendors have teamed with the Rotary Club of Elizabeth to put together this event for the community,” explained Kenneth Richuso, chairman. “Our event is a unique dining experience featuring an ethnically diverse display of sumptuous gourmet dishes from Elizabeth and the surrounding area’s most exciting restaurants,” he added.
Participating vendors include: Aroma Restaurant and Lounge, Bayway Liquors, Beach Haus Beer, Bella Palermo Bakery, Caravela Restaurant and Bar, CATB Liquor Imports, Charles Jacquin Cie, Inc., Chef Orietta Rodriguez, Climax Brewing Company, Come Grow With Us Gardens, Delicious Desserts. Don Julio Restaurant, El Carbonero, Thomas A. Edison Academy Culinary Arts School, Elizabeth High School Interact Club, First Republic Lounge & Restaurant, Garcia’s Liquor Depot, Garden Restaurant, La Casa Del Pan Con Lechon, LeBretzel, Lidia’s Cuban Kitchen, The Lobby, Mojito Lounge and Restaurant, Minhoto Restaurant, Olive Kabob House, Orale Mexican Bistro, Patria Restaurant, Pinho Bakery, Renaissance Newark Airport Hotel, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Sabor Y Arte, ShopRite Jr./Edison Career Academy, Sudaka, Sweet Revenge/Domaine da Canton Liquors, Tequila’s Grill, Torna a Sorrento, Trinitas Regional Medical Center, Tropicana Diner and Bakery, Valenca Restaurant and Vinhus Restaurant & Lounge.
The Taste of Elizabeth will also feature a 50/50 raffle and a tricky tray of valuable gifts. Funds raised from the Taste of Elizabeth will enable the Club of continue to provide financial grants to local non-profit agencies and to provide college scholarships through the Club’s Albert & Louise Davis Scholarship Fund.
