ELIZABETH — The Executive Committee of the Benedictine Academy Parents Association (BAPA), was commissioned at a recent “Back to School Night” held at the all-female Catholic college prep secondary school in Elizabeth on Sept. 19.
The new officers, elected last spring to serve for the 2013-14 academic year, were commissioned by Academy President Sister Germaine Fritz, OSB. The officers pledged to be loyal to the Parents Association by-laws and accept the responsibility of working for the good of Benedictine Academy.

The Parents Association is very active at the Academy, sponsoring community-building events and raising funds to help enhance academic programs and student activities. This year, the Association will sponsor a Christmas basketball tournament; campus family “Welcome Back Cookout”; pasta supper; and, will hold several meetings featuring guest speakers focusing on topics of interest to families at the Academy.
