LINDEN – Air conditioning condensing units were stolen from two Linden businesses last week, according to police.

Someone took at unit valued at $5,000 from a doctor’s office on the 300 block of W. St. Georges Avenue overnight between Sept. 24 and 25. In a second incident, an Arcoaire unit valued at $8,000 was stolen from a florist on N. Stiles Street overnight between Sept. 26 and 27. In both cases, the units were carefully disconnected from the buildings.

Police believe that the units, which are heavy enough that they would require more than one person to move, are being sold for scrap metal.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Detective David Dehler at the Detective Bureau at 908-474-8537.
