NEW BRUNSWICK – This December, State Theatre will offer a variety of holiday shows. Kicking off the season is Tony Orlando’s Great American Christmas on Dec. 4. The next day with The Midtown Men return to the State Theatre with Holiday Hits.
Other December events include a screening of Engelbert Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel in HD, captured live from Opera de Paris (Dec. 9); Celtic Woman: Home for Christmas (Dec. 10); Vienna Boys Choir: Christmas in Vienna (Dec. 11); Chazz Palminteri in A Bronx Tale (Dec. 13); The Laurie Berkner Band (Dec. 14); comedian Brian Regan (Dec. 14); and John Pizzarelli with New Jersey Symphony Orchestra – Home for the Holidays (Dec. 15), in a program of holiday standards.
At the end of the month, American Repertory Ballet returns to the State Theatre with four shows of the The Nutcracker (Dec. 21 & 22). Rounding out the December line-up is the annual New Year’s event, Salute to Vienna – New Year’s Eve Concert (Dec. 31), featuring the Strauss Symphony of America and internationally-acclaimed opera singers from around the world.

Favorites such as “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts),” “Baby, Please Come Home,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “California Dreamin,” and “ All I Want For Christmas is You” will be performed with the group’s dynamic choreography, electrifying rock n’ roll arrangements, and of course signature four-part harmony. Celtic Woman: Home for Christmas

The magic of the holiday season comes alive with a breathtaking performance by this all-female musical quartet of angelic vocalists accompanied by a full symphony orchestra. The program will include songs from Celtic Woman’s chart-topping Christmas albums as well as new material. Under the direction of David Downes, a former musical director of Riverdance, Celtic Woman has sold over 6 million records worldwide. Celtic Woman is currently composed of Chloë Agnew, Lisa Lambe, Susan McFadden, and fiddler Máiréad Nesbitt. Tickets range from $35-95.

The Vienna Boys Choir take their first trip to New Brunswick since 2004! The program will include Austrian folk songs, classical masterpieces, popular songs, and of course, holiday favorites! The Vienna Boys Choir is one of the oldest and most prestigious ensembles of its kind. The over 100 choristers, chosen from boys between the ages of 10 and 14 living in or near Austria, are placed into one of four groups that tour the world, giving over 300 concerts per year. A Bronx Tale

This classic coming of age story is brought to life in the original, autobiographical, one man show. Written and performed by Academy Award® nominee Chazz Palminteri, A Bronx Tale tells the story of a young boy from a working class family who witnesses a murder and is introduced to the world of organized crime. The Laurie Berkner Band – A Holiday Celebration Concert
