CRANFORD – As the Union County College Women’s Soccer team continues its winning streak having won the past two games. On Sept. 21, they defeated Montgomery County Community College (Pa.) with a 2-0 win. Both goals were scored in the second half, one by Elizabeth Da Silva who was assisted by Francesca Cantananzi. Cantananzi scored the second goal of the game and ensured the Owl’s victory.
The next day, the Owls played Potomac State College of West Virginia and secured their sixth win of the season in double overtime. The Owls won by a score of 2-1. The first half ended scoreless and Potomac went on to score the first goal. Soon after Union’s Brianna Moncion scored and tied the game and forcing it into overtime. In overtime, Moncion scored again to ensure victory for the Owls in the last minute of play.
The Women’s Soccer team is currently 6-2 and their next game will be held on Thursday, Sept. 26, against Raritan Valley Community College at Raritan. This will be their third conference game.
