Pictured above is the medallion on a building that was on Fayette and Maple streets in Perth Amboy until recently. It had three letters, “DMI,” on it, highly stylized. It stood for Dorsey Motors Inc. It later became Amboy Ford. In July, they started gutting the building, a mid-1920s brick structure. When they removed a studded out wall, a partial ramp was exposed that once allowed the dealer there to store cars on the roof of the building. The showroom was on the Maple Street side of building, with repair bays in the back. (Photo and information courtesy of Gerard Trabalka)
