LINDEN — Linden firefighters, police officers, community leaders, members of the public and Linden School No. 9 students, faculty and staff gathered outside the school by the flagpole, with small American flags lining the entrance of the school on Wednesday, Sept. 11. School No. 9, and all of Linden Public Schools, held a ceremony on the National Day of Service and Remembrance with patriotic songs, moments of silence and poetry readings. The Linden High School NJROTC posted the colors, and the students honored our Linden heroes with certificates. As a small breeze waved the flags, one parent was heard saying “We can appreciate that when we sleep, we sleep protected.”
