Central Jersey Charity BeerFest Set Comes To Woodbridge Saturday

WOODBRIDGE – Taste New Jersey’s finest local handcrafted beers at the 7th Annual Central Jersey Charity BeerFest slated to get underway on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Parker Press Park in downtown Woodbridge. (Rain date: Sept. 21).

Sponsored by the J.J. Bitting Brewing Company of Woodbridge, the Central Jersey BeerFest is bigger and better than ever, with more New Jersey breweries offering specialty brews, live music and entertainment, food vendors, and more. Participating Breweries: J.J. Bitting Brewing Co.; Tun Tavern; Pizzeria Uno; Harvest Moon Brewery; Cricket Hill Brewery; Boaks Brewing Co.; East Coast Brewing Co.; Ships Inn; and beers from Brooklyn Brewery ( Post Rd. Pumpkin, Brown Ale); Blue Point Brewery (Rasta Rye, White IPA); Keegans Brewery (Mothers Milk); Sam Adams Brewing Co (Cherry Wheat, IPL); and He’Brew (Hop Mana, Coney Island Pilsner).

Admission for the festival is $25 for adult “beer samplers” and $15 for adult “non-beer samplers.” Children under 12 are free. Those wishing to sample the many micro-brews must provide identification and proof of legal drinking age. Admission includes a two ounce official BeerFest sampler glass and free parking.

Proceeds from the Central Jersey Charity BeerFest will be donated to Tomas Kurzeja and family of Woodbridge. In December 2012, Thomas, 10, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Thomas received his “Arrow of Light” in February 2013 from Cub Scout Pack 72 and he is currently with Boy Scout Troop 143 in Woodbridge. He was also a volunteer on the Community of Caring at his school. He plays flute with the school band and received a Mayor’s Citation in May 2012 for an essay he wrote on recycling.
