ELIZABETH — Jahaira Alvarez of Elizabeth and her newborn daughter, happily posed with Anabela Ferriera of Elizabeth (far left) who hand-crafted the cap the baby is wearing. The Elizabeth resident, who has been crocheting since she was young, recently made three donations of her hand-crafted caps for infants as well as cancer survivors who receive outpatient care at Trinitas Comprehensive Cancer Center. Ferriera turns out two caps an hour and has donated more than 100 caps to Trinitas in recent months. Stefany Morales, RN, of the Maternal Child Health Unit, shares in the moment before mother and baby were discharged. (Photo courtesy of Trinitas)
