FORDS – Students from Our Lady of Peace School in Fords are back in class now, but did a variety of things this summer to explore interests outside of school and get ready for the new school year.
Eighth grader Colleen Kelly recently traveled to Ocean City Maryland with her company dance team, “Jill Justin Dance Alliance” in Edison. She came in first place in the grand line division in the “July 2013 National Talent” Competition and continued to take dance classes throughout the summer. Kelly participated in Our Lady of Peace School’s Talent Show in the spring, performing a tap routine that impressed the audience.
Seventh grader Katie Kucek does some back to school reading, Heart of the Samurai by Margi Preus. Next on her list was Johnny Tremain by Ester Forbes. She has been a student at Our Lady of Peace in Fords since kindergarten.
Eighth grader Angela Fakina finishes up her summer PowerPoint project on Johnathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach. She will be getting two grades on this project, one from literature and homeroom teacher Kelly Dubasak, and one from computer teacher Renee Cusick. (Photos courtesy of Our Lady of Peace School)
