Circle Players To Present “Prelude To A Kiss”

PISCATAWAY – Circle Players will present “Prelude to a Kiss,” a love story written by Craig Lucas. After receiving rave reviews off-Broadway, the original production moved to Broadway in May 1990. It closed in 1991, received a Tony Award nomination as Best Play, and was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

At Peter and Rita’s wedding, a mysterious old man insists on kissing the bride. While honeymooning, Peter gradually realizes that the woman by his side is not his wife. The wedding kiss caused Rita’s soul and the old man’s to change places. Peter must track down the old man and free his young love’s spirit trapped in an aging and diseased body before it’s too late.

Jessica Damrow Sherman of Summit is the director. Fred Cuozzo of Green Brook is the producer.

Appearing onstage are Andrew Young, Old Bridge; Tess Ammerman, Allentown, NJ; Ed Faver, Roselle; Michael Stratton, Union City; Stephen Mennella, Dunellen; Donne Petito, Hopewell; Jon Robinson, Hillsborough; Stacie Williamson, Palmer, PA; and Fred Cuozzo, Green Brook.
