EDISON — To celebrate Active Aging Week, the Middlesex County Office of Aging and Disabled Services is sponsoring a Senior Health and Fitness Walk on Sept. 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The walk will take place at Roosevelt Park in Edison and is cosponsored by the various senior centers in Middlesex County.
All Middlesex County seniors are invited to participate in this special event. Walkers must register with their local senior centers or with the Middlesex County Office of Aging and Disabled Services by Sept. 11 by calling 732-745-3295.
“This event is always so much fun for the residents who participate,” said Freeholder Kenneth Armwood, chair of the county’s Community Services Committee. “It also keeps us focused on staying fit and living healthy.”
“On behalf of the Board of Chosen Freeholders, I would like to invite all of our senior residents to register for this event,” said Freeholder Director Ronald G. Rios. “I think it’s a great way to spend the day.”
Participating seniors will receive a T-shirt and a boxed lunch. Health screenings will be done prior to the walk, and a raffle will take place as the event draws to an end. Be Our Guest Entertainment will provide entertainment.
