WOODBRIDGE – The township will take full control over the Woodbridge Community Center in the coming months, ending a nearly 12-year partnership with the YMCA of Metuchen, Edison, Woodbridge and South Amboy, according to a Sentinel report.

Woodbridge Mayor John McCormac told the paper, “Everything that they have now, we will continue to have…if anything, when the transition is over, members will have more in terms of programs and services.”

The change is being made in part because of a national YMCA policy change that requires local chapters to own facilities where they operate branches, according to the report.
