Linden police have released this photo of the suspect in Tuesday’s bank robbery

LINDEN – Police are looking for a man who robbed a Wells Fargo bank branch of an undisclosed amount of cash on Tuesday afternoon.

Shortly after 2:30 p.m., the robber, who appeared to be about 5-foot-8 and in his 20s, entered the branch on West St. Georges Avenue and passed the teller a note demanding cash and threatening to shoot her if she did not cooperate.

The man left without ever showing a weapon and no injuries were reported.

The robber was wearing a Chicago Bulls cap, a gray long sleeve T-shirt with black sleeves, black baggy shorts, sneakers, and round-frame sunglasses. He was not seen getting into or out of a vehicle.

The Linden Police Department’s Detective Bureau is investigating the crime with the assistance of the Newark Division of the FBI. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Det. David Dehler at 908-474-8538 or email
