Mother & Daughter Treated For Smoke Inhalation After Linden Fire

LINDEN – A 33-year-old mother and her 4-year-old daughter were treated for smoke inhalation after a Monday morning fire at a four-family building on Stiles Street in Linden, police said.

Officers responded to the reported fire on the 200 block of Stiles Street at 5:20 a.m. on Aug. 19 and saw heavy smoke coming from the two-story building. Police alerted the occupants and evacuated them to safety. Two were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene by a Linden Fire Department ambulance and transported to JFK Hospital in Edison for further evaluation.

The cause of the fire was being investigated by the Linden Fire Department.
