LINDEN — Councilman Derek Armstead’s efforts to clean up Linden inspired a non-profit local family organization, the Forever Fierce All-Stars, to hold a community cleanup event in the Third Ward on Saturday, Aug. 10.¬†They raked and picked up dead leaves and litter in Dobson Park.

Linden school board member Dawn Beviano, wrote the following message on Armstead’s Facebook page: “Drove by my old house, in the third ward of Linden, earlier this morning. It was great seeing children cleaning Dobson Park! I am very proud of the youth of Linden! Derek& Danie tell everyone I said great job!”

Armstead encourages all Linden residents to join the campaign by emailing derekarmstead@comcast.net or joining the Facebook group page, Keep Linden New Jersey Beautiful and Litter Free.

The Forever Fierce All-Stars aim to give talented youth and opportunity to experience a traveling all-star cheer team. Organizers say that cheerleaders learn the importance of striving for success without sacrificing sportsmanship, character or integrity. Members are expected to maintain good grades and participate in community service. For more information, visit http://www.foreverfierceallstar.com/index.html
