SOUTH PLAINFIELD — Police are actively investigating the death of an unidentified individual who was found in a wooded section of the borough Sunday, Middlesex County Acting Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Chief James Parker of the South Plainfield Police Department announced .
The investigation began at 12:13 p.m. when a man working in the area discovered the body in the woods near South Clinton Avenue and Gardner Avenue and contacted police.
The identity and cause of death of the individual are under investigation. Police are awaiting the results of an autopsy that is scheduled to be performed by the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office.
