EDISON – School is almost back in session and to kick off the season, Menlo Park Mall will hold its Back At It festivities on Saturday, Aug. 17, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Nordstrom Court and Wing on the Lower Level, inviting students and their families to get back into the rhythm of another school year.
“The beginning of a new school year is an exciting time,” said Suzy Lichter, director of marketing for Menlo Park Mall, “and as always, we want Menlo Park Mall to be at the center of the celebration. This year, we are especially excited to be teaming up with Teen Vogue, the authentic source for young trendsetters interested in emerging fashion, beauty and pop culture.”
Featured Back At It event activities were created by keeping young shoppers’ preferences top-of-mind, including a musical performance by Reverse Order at 1:00 p.m. in the Nordstrom Court followed by a meet and greet. Reverse Order’s music incorporates pop and rock medleys, and their new single titled “GO” was recently nominated for a Grammy.
Hosted by radio personality “Monk” from the WPLJ Scott & Todd Big Show, the event will also feature back-to-school makeup tips from Nordstrom beauty experts, interactive games at Marbles the Brain Store and makeover sessions courtesy of Sephora. There will also be numerous Instagram and Facebook photo ops, a chance to win a $100 Simon American Express® Giftcard and SWAG bags will be distributed to the first 300 individuals who register while supplies last.
- Trend Guide: Back At It event attendees will receive a Teen Vogue and Simon Malls® Trend Guide, featuring fashion tips to achieve the trendiest looks of the season.
- Simon Style Guide Quiz: Back At It event attendees will get to test their fashion IQ!
- Fashion Events: Guests will be able to see “up close and personal” the latest fashion trends for the back-to-school season. Music and fun are on the menu for every Back At It event. Nordstrom will host a fashion show at 2 p.m. of its BP collection that will feature some of the hottest trends of the season.
- Mall-Wide Discount Offers and Samples
“We are thrilled to be working with Simon Malls to further expand and elevate our Back-to-School Saturday initiative,” says Teen Vogue Vice President and Publisher Jason Wagenheim. “Joining forces for this all-important shopping season was an obvious choice. This time of year is incredibly significant for the Teen Vogue audience, and together with Simon Malls, we will work to drive our collective communities into stores to shop while building both awareness and excitement for all of our participating brands.”
