FORDS — On one hot, humid summer afternoon in July, Benjamin Nemeth, an eighth grader at Our Lady of Peace School in Fords, concentrates on one of his summer reading books “House of Dies Drear” by Virginia Hamilton. While Ben agrees this book is a good read for his age group he will soon move onto “Jonathan Livingston Seagull” by Richard Bach which Nemeth and his fellow eighth graders will complete individual projects about before they return to class in the fall. Eighth graders Om Panda, Antonio Costa, and Stephen Parente take a break from their summer math assignment at “Rebounderz” in Edison. Our Lady of Peace School previously held a school event at Rebounderz during winter midterms to give students. Two of these three students have been at Our Lady of Peace School since pre-k and will be entering their 10th year as part of the school family in the fall.
