Tornado Hit South Jersey

STAFFORD TOWNSHIP — A tornado hit southern New Jersey on Tuesday morning, knocking down trees and causing damage to roofs.

The National Weather Service said the tornado touched down just after 10 a.m. near Route 9 in the Manahawkin section of Stafford Township. It had an estimated maximum wind speed of 75 to 85 mph and a width of 50 to 100 yards.
